The Distillers Edition of the Classic Malts of Scotlan13d brings a new dimension of taste and exploration to the enjoyment of Single Malt Whisky. Each of the six distilleries has hand selected a small number of their casks for double maturing. The Whisky is matured for a second time in cask wood which each Master Distiller has chosen to complement the unique character of the individual Malt Whisky. The marraige of cask wood and whisky has always been a traditional tool of the distillers craft, but the addition of a second maturing in selected cask woods brings a new depth and complexity to these great Malt Whiskies.
Each special Limited Edition is hallmarked as a symbol of rarity and superior quality. The hallmark carries the symbol of the distillery, its founding year assay mark, the type of wood cask in which the whisky has been double-matured and the monogram of each Master Distiller.
Each bottle in The Distillers Edition of the Classic Malts of Scotland carries a release number, individual to each distillery, which designates the selected casks that have been specially chosen for double maturation.
