This Bangle depicts Isle of Arran, from Argyll across the sound of Bute. Often referred to as “Scotland in miniature”, Arran is divided into “Highland” and “Lowland” areas by the Highland Boundary Fault. The Island draws tourists and geologists in droves. This view features Goatfell, the highest point at 2,866ft, and the profile of the “Sleeping Warrior”, the horizon which resembles a resting figure with helmet and crossed arms.
