The Nanda Devi takes inspiration from our more than sixty years of craft and practice in the mountains, drawing on features that made our pioneering waterproof clothing so successful and using these to solve current challenges. Combining durable and proven construction elements with GORE-TEX ePE membrane, the Nanda Devi is a comfortable and packable waterproof jacket for hill-walking, trekking and very wet weather conditions.
Low-profile, external stormflaps are the key traditional feature revived for the Nanda Devi. As well as offering a timeless mountain aesthetic, stormflaps on the centre front zip, the two zippered hand pockets and underarm pit zips make the jacket lastingly waterproof, even in the most severe wet weather.
Using a GORE-TEX ePE waterproof membrane with a recycled water-repellent face fabric and highly breathable recycled drop liner, the Nanda Devi provides advanced waterproof protection and user comfort, even on warm or humid days. With a softer feel than some heavy-duty waterproofs, it’s an ideal choice for less severe mountain use where comfort and packability are a high priority.
The Nanda Devi offers necessary protection without feeling cumbersome or demanding constant adjustment, featuring an adjustable and peaked Mountain Hood that synchs down during bad weather and an Alpine Fit to accommodate movement but minimises fabric bulk. Articulated, pre-shaped sleeves ensure this even when scrambling or shouldering packs. Pit zips allow for effective temperature regulation and moisture management during strenuous uphill legs, while adjustable hem drawcords and laminated cuffs seal out the rain when the storm clouds roll in.

A very adaptable jacket which is based on our Alpine Fit pattern with only minor adjustments to cater for its robust 75 denier fabric. It is well suited both to wearing with multiple midlayers in winter as well as just thin layers in summer. Most people find the Nanda Devi fits ‘true to size’ no matter when or with which layers they wear it with.
